C. Willard Smith

Professor of English, Cap and Dagger mentor

For over half its history, Willard – as he was affectionately known by generation upon generation of its mentors – served Cap and Dagger as advisor, teacher, director, designer, critic, champion, and friend. Willard helped bring about the marriage of Frill and Frown, the women’s dramatic organization, to Cap and Dagger, originally the men’s dramatic organization. Thanks to his years of guidance and counseling has been a long and happy marriage.

Excerpted “In Memoriam” on the occasion of Cap and Dagger’s 80th birthday in the Our Town program (1980-1981 Artistic Season)
