Welcome Alumni, Students, and Audience!
Stages of Bucknell Theatre and Dance is an ongoing project showcasing the creativity and dedication of the faculty, staff, alumni, and students from 1918 to the present. Inspired by Betsy Powers’ exhibit for the Cap and Dagger centennial, Stages began with play files and archival material she preserved from theatre’s first home in the English Department.
Fragments of a Journey: 150 Years of the Arts at Bucknell University (video anthology) and Early Stages introduce you to the people, plays, and places foundational to the Department of Theatre and Dance. See Cap and Dagger plays on the Lewisburg High School stage directed and designed by C. Willard Smith. See Modern Dance nurtured within Women’s Physical Education. Discover the legacy of Harvey M. Powers’ Theatre Program in the English Department and Betsy Powers’ handwritten history of the Bucknell Association for the Arts which became foundational to the Bucknell Arts Council.
Here’s to the Department of Theatre and Dance building on our legacy! 2026 – 2027 artistic season brochure will be posted soon. Enjoy live theatre and dance in your favorite theatres!
